My Art Journey so Far

Q & A / 01 August 2025

Hello! This is my very first blog post, so please forgive me if my writing feels a bit rough around the edges. I will do my utmost to introduce myself, share what truly inspired my creative journey, and discuss the various influences that have shaped my art. As you read further, I’ll also take the time to offer valuable tips for navigating your own artistic path while sharing insights on spirituality and self-improvement to help you become a better version of yourself. I invite you to keep reading and explore this journey with me!

So first of, Some self-taught artists face the great sadness and depression episodes in their life before finding their creative voice, such is the truth about myself as well. I say ‘great’ because it is so real and strong that it either destroys you or it shapes you into this very strong, positive and lightheaded character, that people would think you are simply just that way and they like you for it without them being aware of your past that was almost the end of you, right? If you've experienced or are experiencing this too, I believe my story will be helpful as I share how I overcame it.. I can at least certainly relate to this, as my journey through art has been intertwined with my personal battles and i wish i found someone like me Now to read & learn from or just share with or all of it all together.

To navigate through these challenging times (Especially with these modern issues like digital algorithms on these Social Medias and “Ai art”) , I discovered a few essential strategies more or less that helped me emerge stronger and more connected to my creativity:

  • Embrace Your Feelings: Acknowledging your emotions is the first step. Instead of pushing them away, allow yourself to feel sadness and reflect on it. This emotional honesty can fuel your art, giving it depth and authenticity.

  • Create Regularly: Art became my sanctuary. By setting aside time each day to create—whether through drawing, painting, or exploring digital art media—I found solace. Regular practice can serve as a routine to anchor you during turbulent times. Even with my day to day regular job in Medical Care (which is a tough job btw.), i am finding my way to at least spend one hour per day!

  • Seek Inspiration in Nature: I found that immersing myself in nature provided a respite from my inner turmoil. The sheer beauty and tranquility of the natural world often inspired new ideas and lifted my spirits.

  • Connect with Others: Finding a community of artists, whether online or in-person, helped me realize I wasn’t alone in my struggles. Sharing experiences and feedback with peers nurtured my growth and diminished feelings of isolation.

  • Explore Art Therapy Techniques: Engaging in art therapy methods—like free drawing or collage-making without judgment (‘Photobashing’)—allowed me to express emotions that were difficult to articulate. This exploration often led to breakthroughs in both my personal life and artistic practice.

  • Set Realistic Goals: Instead of overwhelming myself with grand ambitions, I focused on smaller, achievable goals. Celebrating minor achievements kept my motivation alive and reminded me of the progress made, no matter how incremental.

  • Document Your Journey: Keeping a journal or sketchbook can be therapeutic. Recording your thoughts, emotions, and artistic progress not only serves as a release but also creates a record of your growth as an artist. I personally had a diary book where i wrote about my meditations, inner insights i have about my habits and spiritual progress. Very very very helpful to start feeling Loved and Connected with the Force field that surrounds us, Cosmos, God, Absolute, thy Creator, call it what you will, the point is, you are no longer isolated and alone in your depression!

  • Be Kind to Yourself: Practice self-compassion. Understand that the journey is not linear; setbacks are part of growth. Allowing yourself grace in tough times can foster resilience over time.

  • Fun & Creative Project: If you try to follow these tips I mentioned above, I'm sure you can find at least one single person you resonate with, and that would be the time to start brainstorming on some kind of creative project you could work on together, like a game project. Or, if you're like me, it can be a personal project on which you work by yourself, allowing you to truly dive deep. For me, connecting with my spiritual side has led to a deeply personal and fulfilling endeavor: I'm currently immersing myself in creating art for a unique tarot card deck. It's a project that allows my own style and touch to truly shine, an exploration of visual storytelling that deeply connects with my inner journey.
